    Deep Ellum, Dallas

    There are a considerable number of places in the city of Dallas which are popularly known for the art, recreation and entertainment. Deep Ellum, Dallas is one such destination in the Dallas city of Texas in the United States of America. This particular district is directly situated at the eastern part of the elevation I-45/US 75 freeway.

    It is in the year of 1884 that Deep Ellum was founded. It is during this particular time that a man called Robert S. Munger structured his factory in Deep Ellum. Again in the year of 1913, Henry Ford founded a factory in order to complement the production of the Ford Model T car at the plant called Detroit plant.


    The Grand Temple of the Black Knights of Pythias, which is the first structure built by the black people has its existance in the city of Dallas. This particular building was structured in the year of 1916. Deep Ellum is also one of the primary centers of jazz and blues in the Southern region. Many celebrated jazz and blues artists have made the clubs of Deep Ellum proud by their outstanding performances. Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bessie Smith , and Robert Johnson have made their performances in The Harlem club and and The Palace club that exist in Deep Ellum.



    At one point of time, Deep Ellum had entered its name among one of the most popular districts which were the center of entertainment and recreation. By the 1990, there existed a number of restaurants, nightclubs, shops, parlors, and bars in this particular district of Deep Ellum in the city of Dallas. But many of this restaurants, business concerns, factories , shops , parlors that once made the district of Deep Ellum proud of their existence , are now closed. But mainly due to the expensive rents and strict restrictions on various businesses in the district of Deep Ellum is in tremendous trouble at present.
