    Culture of Dallas

    Culture of Dallas is suggestive of the fact that the city boasts of a rich cultural heritage. Dallas, Texas which covers an area of 385 square miles or 997 square is the third-largest city in the state of Texas.     Dallas, Texas is considered as the key cultural as well as economic hub of the 12-county Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area with a population of 6 million people and enjoys the status as the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States.


    Established in 1841 Dallas, Texas was officially incorporated as a city on February 2 , 1856. The city is renowned for its contribution to the petroleum industry, telecommunications, computer technology, banking, as well transportation.

Meyerson Symphony Center, The Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center,The Dallas Contemporary, The Dallas Children's Theatre. DISD's Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, which is presently being extended is also situated in this district.
